Since 2019 I have been working together with Studio Warmerdam as a member of the Exhibition Lighting Design Team of the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (NL)
Remy Jungerman - Behind the Forest
A major survey of work from the last 15 years. The survey focuses on his artistic output of the last fifteen years and includes new work created specifically for the occasion. Studio Warmerdam created lighting for this exhibition.
Bruce Nauman
In collaboration with Tate Modern, the Stedelijk Museum presents the largest overview of the American artist Bruce Nauman in the Netherlands up to now. This exhibition spans a period of more than fifty years. The selection includes works that have rarely or never been shown, works that propelled his creative focus in a new direction and spatial works that invite the viewer to share in an immersive experience. Studio Warmerdam created lighting for this exhibition.
Ulay Was Here
Largest-ever retrospective and first international posthumous exhibition of Ulay (1943-2020), one of the pioneers of Polaroid photography and performance and body art: experimental, uncompromising, and committed to social issues. The exhibition includes many never before seen works. Studio Warmerdam created lighting for this exhibition.
Nam Jun Paik - The Future is Now
Largest survey of Nam June Paik, visionary artist and pioneer. He predicted the power of mass media to shape our lives and introduced the term ‘electronic superhighway’ to foretell the future of communication in an internet age. The exhibition The Future is Now tracks his artistic career over five decades, through large-scale installations, video sculptures, modified television sets, and his early musical scores and robots. Studio Warmerdam created lighting for this exhibition.
In the Presence of Absence
The exhibition shows a selection of artworks and design projects by 23 artists that challenge the idea of collective knowledge and memory. The artists of ‘In the Presence of Absence’ question how history is written through stories that remain unseen, have been ignored or may be told more often within institutions like museums. Studio Warmerdam created lighting for this exhibition.
Carlos Amorales – The Factory
The first European retrospective exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Carlos Amorales. It showcased the work of one of Mexico’s most important contemporary artists from the 1990s to the present day –the most recent piece was made especially for the exhibition. Studio Warmerdam created lighting for this exhibition.
